Senior Controller

About the role

ESO is seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Senior Controller who is highly organized and is able to prioritize among diverse and competing tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You’ll be responsible for the implementation and overall execution of accounting operations.  You’ll be involved in all aspects of accounting management, including corporate accounting, internal regulation, and timely financial reporting.

More about you

You can expect to:

  • Manage and monitor all accruals, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of investors, lenders, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure that payroll is completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensure that all accounts payable functions are completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Manage the output and operations of the accounting department, including hiring, developing, and leading a team
  • Coordinate closing process and preparation for financial reviews and audits
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Provide a system of management cost reports
  • Partner with CFO to support the analysis and insight of charges for the business
  • Collaborate with other Accounting and Finance teams as needed
  • Ensure accounting practices remain in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements as well as existing accounting/financial principles
  • Oversee Treasury function and be the primary partner to auditors and tax accountants

Your qualifications

Some of the things required to be successful in the role include:

  • 5+ years of Sr. Controller experience
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is desired
  • CPA certification is strongly preferred
  • GAAP expertise required, including ASC 606 knowledge
  • Finance/Accounting experience with a SaaS company
  • Proven success in managing an accounting team
  • Demonstrated success as a people leader
  • Ability to be a strong, clear communicator
  • Sound overview of end-to-end operational and financial controls, business processes, and reporting
  • Experience with purchase accounting
  • Experience with M&A integrations
  • Experience in these systems is strongly preferred:
    • NetSuite
    • Salesforce (including CPQ & Salesforce Billing)
    • FloQast,
    • Expensify
