Cookie Notice
ESO Solutions, Inc. is committed to protecting your privacy. When you visit eso.com (the site), we and third-party partners obtain certain information by automated means such as using cookies (first and third-party) or web beacons.
A “cookie” is a text file that websites send to a visitor’s computer or other internet-connected device to uniquely identify the visitor’s browser or to store information or settings in the browser. A “web beacon,” also known as an internet tag, pixel tag or clear GIF, links web pages to web servers and their cookies and may be used to transmit information, including information collected through cookies, back to a web server.
Cookie Types
ESO uses both first-party and third-party cookies on its website. First-party cookies are set by ESO, whereas third-party cookies are set by a domain (e.g. a business partner) other than ESO.
We also use both session cookies and persistent cookies. Session cookies are cookies that are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies are cookies that stay in place after you have closed your browser – the lifetime of a cookie can vary from seconds to years and is established by the website publisher or domain that owns the cookie.
How we use cookies:
Necessary cookies – These cookies are necessary for the site to function and cannot be switched off, for example, these maintain a users’ browsing activities in a single session, providing a consistent and seamless experience.
Preference cookies – These cookies enable the site to provide enhanced functionality and user experience. They also collect information about your choices and remember your preferences so we can show you relevant content, for example, a functional cookie will remember your location and user preferences. Statistics cookies – These cookies help website owners to understand how visitors interact with the website by collecting and reporting information anonymously.
Marketing cookies – We may partner with one or more third parties to use advertising cookies to deliver content that we believe is relevant to you and your interests. We also use these cookies to track how many times you have clicked on or watched advertisements which allows us to learn which advertising campaigns are the most effective and to help limit the number of times a user is shown the same advertisement.
Unclassified – Unclassified cookies are those that we have identified but have not yet sorted into our standard categories, such as necessary, preference, statistics, or marketing cookies. This may be because the cookie is new or because the cookie management platform (CMP) we utilize has not yet updated its classification.
Cookie Management Platform
Cookiebot is our chosen Cookie Management Platform (CMP) and enables us to be transparent about the tracking technologies we use on our website. The CMP refers to all tracking technologies as cookies, but this also includes web beacons and pixels etc. When you arrive on our site, a banner will be displayed and offer you options to accept all, reject all or tailor your preferences for those tracking technologies which are not necessary to make the website function. Should you choose to reject all, cookies necessary for our website to operate will remain and we may place one cookie to confirm your preferences – this cookie will prevent you from being presented with the cookie banner every time you go to the website. Please note that this is device dependent and if you clear your cache your preferences may be deleted, and you will be presented with your options again.
Web Beacons / Tracking Pixels
We integrate web beacons (or tracking pixels) through third-party tools on our website. These pixels provide benefits to us and the users of our website such as:
- – They help us understand how you interact with our website. This allows us to improve the content and layout, making your experience more enjoyable and relevant.
- – They allow us to analyze the data collected through the pixels, which helps us personalize content to you, ensuring you receive information that is relevant to you.
- – They allow us to measure the performance of our marketing campaigns and help us refine our strategies to better meet your needs.
- – They allow us to identify areas where we could enhance our services, to provide you with a better experience.
- – They allow us to respect your privacy, as the tracking pixels collect data in an aggregate form and are not linked to personally identifiable information unless you have given consent.
ESO Solutions Inc. does not sell or share any data that may be collected by web beacons or pixels.
The primary third-party pixels we utilize include:
- – Pendo – Pendo has dual functionality use in ESO. It is used to track the metadata of users to our website to allow us to analyze and improve the services offered to (or purchased by) our customers, for example, if you log a support ticket, this metadata can assist with pinpointing issues.
Pendo is also used to update our customers with important messages and notifications such as time critical alerts or critical messaging, or feature launch announcements.
- – 6sense – 6sense is a marketing and sales platform and helps us to:
- Understand your needs and preferences better, allowing us to provide you with more relevant content.
- Anticipate your needs and respond more effectively, ensuring a smoother and more satisfying experience with our services.
- Analyze aggregated and anonymized data, ensuring your personal information is protected while still gaining valuable insights to improve our services.
- – Meta and LinkedIn – Meta and LinkedIn are used as part of our advertising strategy. We use pixels to track user journeys from ad clicks to site interactions, helping us understand visitor engagement.
