How You’ll Support Our Mission 

ESO is seeking a general accounting professional to participate in the month-end closing process and help us scale our global operations. The Staff Accountant will be a key driver in the accurate and timely execution of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.   The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, self-driven individual that can prioritize among diverse and competing tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.   

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, you will be part of our global Accounting and Finance team. 

What You’ll Be Doing - the day to day 

  • Prepare monthly journal entries across numerous sections of the Chart of Accounts
  • Prepare reconciliations and variance analysis of various balance sheet and P&L accounts, including monthly bank reconciliations
  • Research, document, and implement the impact of current accounting standards
  • Participate in the month-end close process
  • Review contracts and identify accounting impact
  • Create deliverables for our external auditors to support the annual external audit
  • Provide project support in other accounting projects, such as financial reporting, implementation of ERP and software
  • Partner with various internal teams such as Accounts Payable, Payroll, Strategic Finance, and Tax to support cross-functional deliverables 

Who You Are - the essentials  

  • Experience in the accounting close and monthly reporting processes
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel and spreadsheet applications (i.e. lookups, SUMIF, etc.)
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, specifically around expense recognition
  • 3+ years of experience in a corporate accounting position at a global, multi-currency company
  • A passion for teamwork, collaboration, and flexibility
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication skills – including written and verbal communications, interpersonal, analytical, negotiating, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple high priorities and have a willingness to learn
