ESO Data Collaborative Surpasses 100 Peer-Reviewed Publications, Marks Milestone at NAEMSP Annual Meeting

posted on March 6, 2026

The ESO Data Collaborative, one of the largest datasets for public safety and healthcare research, powered 13% of all research submitted for the 42nd Annual Meeting of the National Association of EMS Physicians (NAEMSP). The Collaborative also served as the data source for three of the six abstracts selected as the most impactful research—a recognition reserved for studies that demonstrate exceptional clinical significance and are advancing meaningful innovation. Additionally, Dr. Remle Crowe, ESO’s director of clinical and operational research, received the Keith Neely Outstanding Contribution to NAEMSP Award for her exceptional, multiyear leadership in advancing the EMS specialty.

The annual NAEMSP meeting is the largest gathering of EMS physicians and non-physician members in the country, bringing together peer-reviewed research and thought leaders shaping the future of emergency medical services.

“Foundational to the ESO Data Collaborative is a belief that the highest quality, most complete dataset in prehospital emergency care doesn’t just advance research, it improves outcomes for communities globally,” said Eric Beck, CEO of ESO. “The Collaborative’s impact on this year’s NAEMSP research presentations reinforces that data is only as valuable as the outcomes it enables. We are proud to support the practice-changing research shaping the future of the EMS field.”

Dr. Crowe’s recognition reflects a career dedicated to building the research infrastructure that enables investigators across the country to access and leverage de-identified, real-world data to validate or evolve clinical best practices and drive evidence-based improvements in emergency care.

“The ESO Data Collaborative allows researchers access to the breadth of patient care data needed to answer many of the questions addressed at this year’s annual meeting,” said Dr. Brent Myers, M.D., MPH, chief medical officer at ESO. “Dr. Crowe has been instrumental in evolving and expanding the Collaborative, which has now contributed to more than 100 peer-reviewed publications. Her patient-centered research approach is born of her real-world EMT experience and completion of her PhD from The Ohio State University as part of her NREMT Fellowship.  She now serves as an Associate Editor for Prehospital Emergency Care, is on the Board of Directors for NAEMSP and has mentored countless researchers through the Prehospital Care Research Forum (PCRF).  She embodies a commitment to research excellence, building the partnerships and processes that connect researchers to the data they need while ensuring it meets the rigor their work demands.”
