ESO hires former Leander Fire Department Chief, Bill Gardner, as Director of Fire Products

Industry veteran brings years of expertise and insight to shape fire services product portfolio

February 26, 2019 – AUSTIN, TexasESO, the leading data and software company serving emergency medical services (EMS), fire departments and hospitals, today announced the hiring of Bill Gardner, former Chief of the Leander Fire Department, as Director of Fire Products.

Gardner brings more than 35 years of Fire and EMS experience to ESO. Most recently, he was the Chief of the Leander Fire Department, retiring in February 2019 and holding that role since 2010. Gardner was instrumental in helping the fire department grow and scale in one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States.

He has been recognized twice as the Paramedic of the Year with Austin/Travis Co. EMS, as well as EMS First Responder of the Year at Jollyville. Gardner was also a finalist for Texas Firefighter of the Year in 2017. He also served as the President of the Texas State Firefighters and Fire Marshals’ Association. Gardner holds several degrees and certifications in fire administration, fire technology and emergency management from a variety of organizations, including Texas Tech University, the Center for Public Safety Excellence and the National Fire Academy.
